Cotton arrived in Europe around the birth of Christ on the road that was later called the Silk Road which was a distance of approximately 10 000 km at its longest.

The camels and packhorses trip took several years, although not the merchants went along on the trip.

The cotton was grown as in India, Middle East and Egypt, but the 800’s also started to grow on European soil. The Arabs brought the cotton to Spain and named it Qutn, who later became el Coton in Spanish. In the 1300s imported the English textile town of Manchester “cotton”. ❤Syria was the center of silke road❤
